Spa Day in DC: Inside the Four Seasons Georgetown

Spa Day in DC: Inside the Four Seasons Georgetown

When I need the full reset, the kind where the outside world disappears for a few hours, I go to the Spa at the Four Seasons Georgetown. At 2800 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, it has been a DC institution for years, and a 2024 renovation made it better than ever.

A spa entrance that sets the tone

The spa has its own entrance off a brick patio, which matters more than you might think. You are not walking through a hotel lobby; you are stepping into a separate world from the first moment. The transition from street to spa is immediate and complete.

The 2024 renovation

The renovation added a new coed lounge and a couples suite, along with high-tech treatment tables that make every appointment feel modern and considered. The space is beautiful, but it is the details, the quiet corners, the thoughtful touches, that stay with you.

Eucalyptus, muted light, and a lounge menu

Inside, the air is scented with eucalyptus and the lighting is soft and muted, a combination that slows your pulse before you even reach the treatment room. The lounge menu comes from the hotel's chefs, with light bites like açaí bowls and salads, so you can refuel without undoing the calm.

The underground lap pool

One of my favorite secrets in DC is this spa's underground lap pool, tucked beneath Georgetown with a hot tub beside it. The steam room and sauna round out the water ritual. I always build in time for the pool before or after my treatment; it is the heart of the experience.

Treatments to book

The spa works with results-oriented product lines like Tata Harper and Codage, so the facials feel as effective as they do indulgent. Book a massage if you carry your stress in your shoulders, a facial if you want your skin to glow for weeks, or both if you are doing this properly.

A day at the Four Seasons Georgetown is an investment in yourself, and I have never once regretted it. Book the time, turn off your phone, and let Georgetown's classic do what it does best.
